Summer colour is important in all gardens provided through hanging baskets, planted containers or with bedding plants dotted through existing shrubs or herbaceous plants.
Summer bedding plants are so easy to grow, flowering from June to early winter. Now is the ideal time to add instant colour to your garden with some easy to grow summer bedding.
Horkys tip: Plant some Nemesia Sun drops to create a real splash of colour through existing border plants including roses and shrubs.
Nemesia sun drops are a riot of colour from June to late summer with a bright mixture of pastel colours which brighten up any border or container.
The range of bedding plants has been added again this year by Horkans to include all the old favourites including lobelias for borders and containers, dwarf dahlias, French marigolds, red leaved begonias and dwarf snapdragons with NEW additions including the accent busy lizzies which are a favourite at Horkans ensuring you with long - lasting colour until early winter.
Busy lizzies are perfect for baskets, window boxes and borders and will reward you with continuous colour irrespective of weather conditions.
Look out this year for the popular mixed verbenas which again offer a long season of flower colour on compact bushy plants perfect for tubs & borders.
Horkys tip: Remember to protect your new bedding plants with slug pellets or slug liquid after planting.

When growing our own selection of plants on the nursery we use Westland nursery stock compost which contains a twelve month slow released fertilizer called osmocote which reacts with the moisture and tempeture of the compost and releases its special nutritions as the plant is actively growing.
Westland nursery stock compost has a special grade of peat which allows better root penetration and added gravel to give lime and drainage.Judge for your self by comparing our range of home grown plants.
