Horticulture Assistant-  internership programme  
 
Horkans are offering a limited number of individuals an opportunity to complete an internership programme with us. We are looking for individuals who are interested  in gaining practical skills & experience in the retail horticulture market before progressing to one of Irelands leading Horticulture Colleges. This program is suitable for committed individual who are interested in gaining horticulture skill and experience and developing their career 
 
This is a work experience scheme not an employed position .

• Currently Unemployed and on the live register for a min of 3 months
• 6-9 month work experience program

 Criteria – registered as unemployed for min of 3mths you retain all current social welfare benefits and get additional €50 a week.(candidates can check with their local social welfare or Fas office
 
This is a Fas supported work placement program and does not offer a salary- But you will retail current benifits as well as receiving 50 addition a week

Internship Programme Details
 
The internship Programme is a Government supported programme that brings employers and the unemployed together for a work experience placement for a maximum duration of nine months.
If you are unemployed and have not secured paid work, the programme allows you to apply your skills and gain valuable experience in a workplace setting. This could give you an edge when applying for jobs in the future. Employers benefit from having someone contribute to their business, whilst also enhancing the skills and career prospects of the individual.

Why Apply?
The Work Placement Programme offers you an alternative if you have been unable to find paid work. If you secure a placement you have an opportunity to keep your skills fresh in a real work environment so that you will be better positioned when applying for your next paid job.or If you are a recent graduate, you gain valuable work experience that you can add to your Curriculum Vitate (C.V.)

Who is Eligible?
Anyone who is unemployed and in receit of benifits is eligible to apply for the internship Programme.
 
Do I get Paid?
No. the placement is unpaid and voluntary. However, if you are already in receipt of certain social welfare payments, you will retain your payment while on a placement. and get an additional 50 euro a week
